Born and raised in Apalachicola and based in Panama City since 2003, Capt. Kevin has spent his life exploring the waters of the Florida panhandle from Apalachicola to Destin. Southern Saltwater Guide Services was built to give families, visitors, and serious anglers a memorable day on the water.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is fish cleaning available?

Yes. Fish cleaning is available for an additional cost. Captain will drop off your catch at the market when returning from the trip.  You can have them regular bagged or vacuum sealed. $1-$1.35 per pound.

Can we bring alcohol?

Yes. Beer is fine, but no liquor.

What should I bring?

Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen (lotion only! NO SPRAY), water is provided but drinks and snacks, any special needed items.

Are kids allowed?

Yes. We love to see kids enjoy the experience.  However, if you have younger kids you may want to ask about our 2 hour kids trip.

Do I need to purchase a fishing license?

No. Fishing licenses are covered while on a charter in Florida.

Straightforward policies and trip expectations

Booking Policies

  • We accept cash and all major credit cards.
  • Credit card information is required to book a charter.
  • If the captain cancels due to weather or unforeseen issues, the client is not responsible for fees.
  • Cancellations within 7 days incur a $100 rebooking fee.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours are responsible for the full charter fee.

Trip Policies

  • Redfish are catch and release only.
  • Fish cleaning is available through the market at the client's expense.
  • Broken tackle is the captain's responsibility; lost overboard rods and reels are the client's responsibility.
  • Children under 6 must wear a PFD while underway.
